In single-row cylindrical roller bearings, the rollers are usually guided by the retaining edge of a certain ring of a set of bearings. The retaining edge is combined with the roller end with special design and surface treatment to provide improved lubrication, reduce friction and thus reduce the operating temperature of the bearing.
Single-row cylindrical roller bearing can bear heavy radial load and high speed. These bearings are manufactured in several different designs, the main difference is the structure of the rib. NU, NJ, NUP and N designs are commonly used.
Type N - the outer ring has no rib and the inner ring has no rib, which allows the displacement of the shaft in two axial directions relative to the bearing seat. Therefore, these bearings are used as non-fixed end bearings
NU type - the outer ring has double ribs, the inner ring has no ribs, and the rest is the same as above.

NJ type - double rib on the outer ring and single rib on the inner ring. Therefore, these bearings are suitable for axial positioning of the shaft in one direction.
NF type - single rib on the outer ring, double rib on the inner ring, others are the same as above.
NUP type - double retaining edge of outer ring, single retaining edge of inner ring and separable flat retaining ring. These bearings can be used as locating end bearings to provide axial positioning of the shaft in both directions.
NFP type - outer ring single retaining edge and separable flat retaining ring, inner ring single retaining edge, the rest are the same as above.
